The Co-Host With the Most — Pt. 2

Model/Actor/Poet Alphonso Jackson a.k.a. A’Qen-Aten has been modeling for about four years, and acting and performing his poetry for about a year (though he has been writing verses for several).
So just how did this Oklahoma-born (Army brat), Bridgeport, Conn.-raised Atlanta transplant get into the industry? “I put myself out there via auditions, doing spoken word, & modeling opportunities. So far, one networking opportunity has opened the door for my next opportunity.
And the opportunities just keep pouring in! He landed a speaking role (Henchman) via Men Of Film Atlanta for the independent film sequel entitled The Sinner II. He also played a character named “John Bernard” in Sherry Bell Bradley’s comedy stage play sequel Is Uncle Pete Really Dead?. He recently wrapped up a co-lead role in a short film through Studio 11’s “11 Eleven 11 project” entitled The Promise, featuring a cameo by Actor Mel Jackson & Actress Lisa Raye, as well as Lisa Raye’s directing debut.
Still want to know more? Jackson is willing to oblige. “I was one of the models featured on the cover of “Consequence’s Braid game” magazine for Deeply Rooted salon. I also modeled in a few Bronner Brother’s hair shows for Deeply Rooted.” HE also was a model escort in Yolanda Zellous’s plus-sized fashion show extravaganza, was a feature model for Atlanta’s Spring 2012 Fro Fashion week, and recently completed a photo shoot for the book cover of Diamond Lane’s novel Rude Boy.

Jackson knows that looks and talent alone can’t help you make it in this industry—you have to really want it. His list of credits proves that he does, but what he loves most about his job is the growth and change.  “Having the opportunity to step outside of myself,” he says in regard to what he loves about acting and with modeling? “Being able to prove my supporters right who have always felt that I possessed a “unique” look.”
We’d be remiss in not offering our Eye Candy fans a little tantalizing tidbit on what look this “model” citizen likes on a woman — classy, sophisticated & natural, he shares. A classy reply from a guy who prides himself of having character.
“The pride I take in being reliable & honest!” Jackson says is one of the things that distinguishes him the most from his peers. “Remaining humble & modest is what I believe will be my keys to success.”
That and his admiration for his momma—and by extension, a woman who works (and gets the job done)!
Mother’s Day Moment

“My mother has never been unemployed since being a mother! She has always worked the 11PM – 7AM (graveyard) shift for as long as I can remember.”

The Co-Host With the Most!

Aquarius Williams

Her infectious personality and positive energy will serve Aquarius Williams well when she couples with Paris “The Duchess of Beauty” Murphy and model/actor Alphonso Jackson to co-host Eye Candy Glam Studios Mother’s Day Makeover & Trunk Party, Sat. May 12.

Aquarius is an inspiration for women everywhere—she’s been on her own since she was 17, she’s the a single mother of a son, a college graduate, an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and she has received a Who’s Who Award and Roots Scholarship.

As if that were not enough, Aquarius founded QTalks! with the desire to ignite a change. QTalks!, An Atlanta-based talk show, which has taken the road less traveled, by promoting positive entertainment with the purpose of creating an environment that empowers individuality. The show does not promote negativity or gossip. QTalks! shows a different “unseen” side of celebrities, athletes, musicians, philanthropist, and independent artist. QTalks! foundation is built on spirit and the transfer of great energy, from one individual to the next. Aquarius believes in having fun, laughter, and enjoying life as it is intended to be!

As a matter of fact, that is one of the things she loves most about what she does—”being absolutely free to inspire and empower individuals through a platform I created.” A platform bolstered by her personality and, what she describes as “the ability to transfer genuine energy to the masses”.

Mother’s Day Moment

“My grandmother, who operated from wisdom and integrity, she told me, to view people the same. (She would say) ‘Everyone has to put their pants on, one leg at a time” Therefore, however small, medium, large the good Lord blesses me, I will see people for who they are, not what they are & possess.”
